Microplastics in Puget Sound
- Provide first comprehensive microplastic assessment of main basin Puget Sound, WA
- Identifying sources and sinks
of microplastics in a densely populated urban estuary.
The gathered data will provide insights into the distribution of marine plastics within the Puget Sound estuary. This information will serve as the foundation for developing a predictive model capable of estimating the current plastic distribution in Puget Sound sediment and identifying its accumulation points. Specifically, I will quantify the total amount of microplastics present in the top 5 cm of sediment.
