If you are a UW undergraduate and want to get involved with research, all postings for the Coastal Ecogeomorph lab will be posted through the UW Oceanography website and posted here. All jobs in Dr. Valentine's lab are paid or for credit.

• Right now I have no positions open in my lab group - I have too many wonderful students in the lab! 

• I am advertising for two summer internship programs that I will be advising/co-advising - check out the applications at their websites:

  • UW Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, and Ecosystem Studies - ​Project: Wetland ponds as indicators of geomorphic process and ocean health

  • REU BLINKS program at FHL - Project: Understanding eelgrass population dynamics through paleoecology

• I am always interested in working with Senior Thesis projects. Please email me! I have no availability for more senior projects this year (2025-2026), but am open to projects for next year (2026-2027).

The deadline for applying for the UW School of Oceanography PhD program is December 1. ​Please see the department website for details on how to apply, the GAMP program (helps you apply), and more.

I am unsure if I will recruit a student for the upcoming cycle (2026 start) due to uncertainties in federal funding. I'm happy to discuss potential funding strategies (NSF GRFP, etc).
